Sarawak Foods

Food from Sarawak ^_^

1. Laksa Sarawak

It is way to different than other laksa from other state in Malaysia. As it actually soup contains no curry at all and It is base on "Sambal Belacan" Shrimp, sour tamarind, garlic, galangal, lemon grass and coconut milk, topped with omelette strips, chicken strips, prawns, fresh coriander and optionally lime. Ingredients such as bean sprouts, fried tofu or other seafood are not traditional but are sometimes added. The best laksa Sarawak i ever ate was at Kuching, the shop is known as Xiang-Xiang corner situated at Matang Jaya.

2. The Midin

It is the most famous wild fern of Sarawak. Usually it cook with garlic and sambal belacan "shrimp". For your information Midin contains with vitamin A which is important for eyesight and it high in fibre which helps keep the intestine healthy and prevents constipation. Actually i just knew about it. :P Owh it commonly will be sell at TAMU or market.

3. Sarawak Layered Cake (Kek Lapis Sarawak)

If you walk around the waterfront Kuching bet you will see these cake. Superbly delicious, but can't eat it too much as it too sweet. As what i know the cake were made using butter,vegetable oil, milk and eggs and indeed it requires a strong arm or electric mixer to be properly prepared. The baked cake has a high, firm texture and the layers are fastened together with jam or a similarly sticky sweet substance.

4. UMAI

Sarawak sushi :D. it based on Melanau delicacy. With fresh fish marinate with lemon or lime mix with holland garlic and chilies. Then let in this the freeze for several moment. It is a special food as it using fresh food without even have to cook or fry the fish.

5. MEE KOLOK SARAWAK

hurm!! the Most popular hawker food of Sarawak. Love by every races and generation of Sarawakian. It available in Red, white and ketchup ^_^

Night-life : Cabana

Cabana!!! yup~ Most happening club that we ever visit, as to too crowded!! Cabana is situated at Fun Zone, Stulang Johore Bahru. Ladies night is on Wednesday. It was open everyday at 5pm until 3am.

As we walk toward the club, the club is decorate with statue , fountain and a bit of Chinese concept. we ordered up a bottle of Jack D and 2 beer tower (carslberg). The price for a bottle of Jack D. is approximately RM3++, expensive than the normal price. The problem with the beer tower is the ice tube maybe dysfunction the beer was not cold and it taste so bad.

The crowd were supporting, the problem just the Dj played old song whole the night and he not mix the song really well. The sound system not that impressive if compare to Doche club.

Vans: OFF THE WALL

Vans is American based manufacture Extreme shoes. It one of my favorite skate shoe. It have a better grip if compare to others skate shoe such as Path, DC, Osiris and etc.

Vans Slip-on Checkered shoes is included in one of my collection, i had used for more than 3 years. It was the most extreme shoes i ever have, Comfortable to used it without using sock and the shoe is completely flexible. It just it not a perfect shoe to skate with.

Above is the pair of Vans Slip-on that i owned.

Next is Vans Old Skool, which i bought few year ago. At first it quite awkward to wore it as it not flexible as Slip-on but after a couple of month i getting comfortable with it. I love the pattern with mix with checker. The endurance of this shoe pretty impressive.

Vans High cut, it quite rare and it quite tough to get one of it in Malaysia.

I just addicted with vans brand, the pattern way to simple but has its own attraction and it riveting. ^_^

Travel: Danga Bay

The next place we visited is Danga Bay located at the south-central part of Iskandar Malaysia and it stretches along a 25km scenic waterfront facing the Straits of Johor and covers and area of approximately 450-acres. There are a lots of interested stuff around the area such as Danga Cruise8.
Next we going to the mini-theme park which offering some 20 different rides. Thrills and spills for us playing some of the game. But it quite expensive Rm10 per ride for pirates ship.

Our favorite absolutely the train and railway, but doesn't have time to ride it thus we just took the picture.

There are a few club's with beach type of style, the place is awesome and suitable to relaxing.
The price is expensive and not worth as it not delicious.

We totally in love with that place, here is our survey for Danga Bay

Yea not mistaken!! Mini Borneo market situated at middle of Masai, Johore. Got lots of borneo foods were sold and also CD's of borneo artist such as Masterpiece, johnny Aman n lots more. It quite awesome as for borneo who work at Johore and miss to taste the local delicacy just come here to fulfill your stomach needs^_^. The people way to friendly we absolutely love that market.

SNEAK PEAK

Before we going to the mini market we having our lunch at coffee shop owned by Sarawakian from Sebauh, Bintulu. It a trill for A.D.S as he also come from Bintulu. Well about the menu...absolutely Sarawakian favorite noodle Mee kolo and mee kampua. Below is the menu that Jake took.

whole of us order the same foods that is Mee kolok. Except for Leo, he order another bowl of kampua ^_^ .

The price is quite expensive if compare to the actual price, but what can we say? to satisfy our stomach we ought to paid it ^_^.

NIGHTLIFE: DOLCE CLUB

YUp!!! We love nightlife so much thanks for our friends who bring we up to Dolce Club located at Fun Zon, Stulang Johore. Basically it more to RnB type of club featuring Dj Lizz spinning RnB all nite long with hitz such as pitbull, LFMAO and etc.

The environment was awesome with projectile whole around each wall, give an extra credit for the mist. The problem with the club is there is no dance floor being provided. the space is quite narrow and we have to be super alert while dance.

2. CORONA (MEXICO)

YUP!!! based on votes, Corona is a very popular beer. Corona was way so popular that we had to include it in the list to be fair, since votes were important as it a readers choice. And unlike many other beers that were preferred, Corona is a good beer anyway.

3. STELLA ARTOIS ( BELGIUM )

My old time favorite beer, but for me it not my 1st choice beer.

Guess is the cheaper beer, in term of taste yeaa it quite good but not as good as other beer.

46. Bus drivers. Overall, bus drivers are happy with their jobs. Transporting people from one place to the next (especially folks who may not be able to get there otherwise) is rewarding, primarily in cities where public transit is a way of life.

47. Education administrators. We aren’t just talking about the elementary school principal, but also the dean of a university. Education administrators feel the same pride as someone working management, only with a sense of educating students which adds more dimension to the reward.

48. Lawyers. Maybe you don’t love a lawyer, but lawyers love what they do. It’s still an industry that almost guarantees employment, as long as you aren’t picky about where you work. Maybe lawyers are happy to help people or maybe they just love the paycheck, but either way, they come home with a smile.
